Papercutter #17: Jason Martin + 7 Artists (Including Me)!

I was deeply honored when Greg MEans, the editor of my favorite comics anthology, Papercutter, asked me to be one of the artists in his latest issue. This very special book pairs the beautiful and emotional writing of Jason Martin (Laterborn, Black Tea) with beautiful art from a bevy of awesome cartoonists: Jesse Reklaw, Corinne Mucha, Calvin Wong, Sarah Oleksyk, Hellen Jo, Vanessa Davis, and last (and perhaps least) yours truly! I can hardly express how delighted I was to have my work in with such great company, basically a who’s who of my fave indie-cartoonists… even more so to be illustrating one of Jason’s great scripts. I hope this is the start of a whole American Splendor-style era for Jason, who has a terrific ear for dialogue and a wonderful narrative voice.
