New Drawings on Family Style Blog + General News

Ooooh, long time no blog! Sorry about that… I’ve got a couple of news items to send your way.

Jonas and I are doing pairs of drawings over on the Family Style blog; couples or pairs of characters who go together (friends, foes, lovers, etc). Thus far we’ve had Red Sonja + Conan, Rogue + Gambit from X-Men, and Link + Zelda. We’ll be posting a new pair about once a week, switching off the selection duties. Should be lots of fun!

My anthology Elfworld has returned as a series of deluxe comics pamphlets… I’m super excited to be showcasing some of my favorite indy-comics artists, like Alec Longstreth, Eve + Josh of Icecreamlandia, Sammy Harkham (who drew the awesome cover, which is hand-letterpress printed by yours truly), David Enos, and more… You can buy it online at the Family Style store. The first issue doesn’t have a comic by me in it (I did draw the endpaper pattern and the table of contents illos), but I will have a sprawling three-part story (!?!) in the next few issues! I’ll be reading from the first section at an all-fantasy comics reading I’m organizing at Comics Relief in December… stay tuned for more on that exciting event.

Expect more previews and sketches in the coming months as I work on that Elfworld story and finish up Bird Brain #5 for the East Bay Alternative Press Book Fair (EBAP) on December 11th. Talk to you soon!
